I picked up a lifeguard fluidized bed filter FB300 used for $10 thinking it would be awesome for my 40 breeder reef project I'm setting up..... but then I was told they do their job too well and just wind up building up nitrates really quick.
I'm going to stock as many different small fish into this little reef as I can get away with, so I'm trying to put as much filtration in as I can fit:
SB80 euro-reef skimmer (might do a recirculation mod to it)
20long sump, with lots of live rock and hopefully some macro
5.5 dedicated low flow fuge
big bag of purigen somewhere, probably some nitrazorb and some phosguard.
deep sand beds wherever i can put them
and the tank has this crazy closed loop system
any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
I was also toying with the idea of the fuge having a reversed undergravel filter or something weird like that.
