Foam under tank

I have recently upgraded to a 210g tank which I placed on a stand I built myself. The top of the stand is 3/4" plywood. The tank sits directly on the plywood.

From what I can tell, the bottom glass is not in contact with the wood (I can stick my finger under where the overflows are built in). I'm assuming the weight sits on the frame and bracing? It is an All-Glass reef ready aquarium.

The tank sits perfectly level, but I've heard from alot of sources about placing some type of foam between the tank and stand to relieve stress. Should I have done this? What would be the benifits is the tank is already level? Is it enough of a concern that I should try to find a way to change it?

I look at it this way... If the aquarium needed foam, the manufacturer would use it.

You assume correctly. It'll be fine.

If your stand is level, the foam shouldn't matter as long as the stand doesn't rack. I used foam under my tank just in case. Suprisingly the foam hasn't compressed much at all.

Foam is used primarily for tanks that have no trim around the bottom. So, the glass is actually sitting flat on the top of the stand. The foam helps in this scenario. Your tank will be fine the way it is.

AGA tanks sit on there rims, I believe they have braces under it and the foam will interfere with that.
