What group is in Greensboro, Im moving there in about ...well closing on the house friday. I currently have a reef tank in Maryland and am moving it with me in another week. Wanting to upgrade to a 120 or 180gal.

There's at least three of us. We should get together. Anybody else form the land of conspicuous consumption?

Not to hijack the thread but since people in NC are posting here. Does anybody know the closest acrylic dealer or builder to Raleigh? All the stores in Raleigh sell glass. I am looking for a 75 acrylic tank. Thanks.

virex27th,

Piedmont Plastics in Greensboro sells acrylic and weld on products.

Phone: 336-218-0128

According to their website, they do have a Raleigh location. I'm not sure if you can get what you are looking for their, but it wouldn't hurt to call.

Yeah I knew about Piedmont but I dont want to build it. I meant to say acrylic aquarium dealer not acrylic dealer, sorry. I have never worked with acrylic and I dont want to mess up and ruin a whole acrylic sheet. I would rather pay someone to build it but the closest vendor I found so far is in Alanta and thats not to bad distance but they want $490 for a 75gal. I think that is somewhat overpriced. I have got other quotes in the low 300's.

for the life of me I can't remember the company's name for sure.......but there is a custom acrylic company in Charlotte that builds custom stuff. Maybe one of the NC people will chime back in and know who I am talking about. I am thinking it is new wave acrylics but not sure. I also don't know for sure if they build aquariums but I at least remember seeing them build filters/sumps.

Just a reminder that there is a R.A.R.E. meeting tomorrow at 1pm. Here are the details:
