Frag plug question?

i have always used ceramic or agranite frag plugs in the past. i just recently bought a birds nest frag that was attached to a clear acrylic frag plug and i seem to remember in the past hearing that SPS corals do not encrust very well on acrylic frag plugs? is this correct and do i need to swap plugs out or is the acrylic plug ok?

this is the first acrylic plug or smooth surface plug that i have ever used with an SPS coral. the birds nest seems to have slightly encrusted abit but i cant tell if it is just encrusted over the glue that is was mounted with or slightly on the plug itself.

Cool, just wasn't sure and wanted to check with others.

About how much of the plug should the birds nest encrust? Will it at least cover the top of the plug? This is the typical size plug, not the bigger size.

If it doesnt encrust the whole plug then you can cut branches and glue them on the plug until it is covered

would that be the best way to go? i just want to make sure it has a strong enough base to were it will not be knocked off of the base later down the line.
