Frag tank lighting

what light do you have on your frag tanks?
Can fluorescent marine white and actinic if it's mainly for softies frags?
Any info or pics of your frag setups are appreciated.

I don't have my own frag tank, but we've got a couple at the store where I work. We use T5's on those... There's a 60ish gallon with a 4 foot 6 bulb Tek Light, with mainly SPS in it. Our Softie frag tank is about 150g (and twice as tall) with 8 bulbs on it. That tank is five feet long, but we use 4 foot bulbs and just stagger them. Hope this helps you somewhat.

thanks for the info. In my case it will be mostly frags for my own use and mainly Softies. So unfortunately it would not justify the expense of T5s or MH. Do you think T8 Fluorescents and having the frags closer to the water surface would be enough?

If its going to be mostly softies, then I don't see why not. Even some LPS would probably be alright in there. You would most likely get better growth out of your corals if you went with PCs, though... but it would be a little more expensive.
