I'm looking for information on fragging a bubble coral, can it be done and if so how to go about doing it. A friend of mine has a very large bubble coral that she wants to frag and I'm on a fact finding mission.
way i do it.... use a clean rubberband, etc and wrap it around the bubble where you want to cut it... wait a while and the tissue will recede and split the coral where the rubberband is... once the tissue recedes enough to expose the skeleton... drill/dremmel through it
i think at MACNA last year they did fragging with a tile cutter and just chopped right thru.... little risky IMO
also good to do a little lugols bath after fragging to help keep protozoans from causing brown jelly where the tissue is damaged
