fragging a dendro

I've noticed a bunch of new polyps on my dendro and I was wondering how will the new polyps establish themselves? Will they slowly move down the base? Will they just release and attach to a rock? Any suggestions on the best way to frag a dendro?

Thanks!

Just let them grow. Looks really nice when you don't frag and let them grow around each. But if you want to frag, just get a blade and cut it at the end of each base.

Sweet looking man! Some day I'll get one of those. Let the sucker grow! All I ever see on here is people with one head nothing ever bigger!

I guess I'm going to let it grow. I really would like to see what it's going to look like with all the new heads. It's going from 5 heads to 15.

wow!! lBeatiful! Let me know when you have an available frag :) I'm still looking for it. Thanks
Are you target feeding it?

ive got one thats about double the size of that and it started out as a 4 headed piece. the heads will slowly start to grow away from and make themselves more individual as they get large, and then eventually each of those heads will repeat the same process. and before you know it each feeding takes 3 cubes of mysis to get the job done lol.

Be careful when/if you decide to cut a polyp off the colony. They have meat inside the polyp skeleton extremely far down typically all the way to the connection with the other polyps.

You risk damaging both the mother and the frag anytime you divide a colony. The polyp should be large enough to feed and should have a long "stem" ideally

Very nice growth. How often have you been feeding, and what are you feeding yours? I wouldn't frag that beauty, it's rare to see them with more than a few heads because they are always getting chopped up and sold.
