I'd use one of the x-acto fine saw blades to cut a ring around the perimeter of the branch where you want to seperate it and then use a coral branch clipper to cut thru thr branch on the cut from the saw.
Cutting it with the saw first should minimize any chance of the cutter fracturing the branch. Kind of like scoring a stone before striking it will create a cleaner edge along the cut.
