Fragging a Rainbow chalice?

Hi guys,
I am wondering if someone were to frag a Rainbow chalice and they didn't get every single color in the frag, will the frag develop all of the colors as it grows out? Is it possible to just get let's say an all blue frag of the Rainbow Crush and then later develop all the other colors? I have heard people say in will not develop the other colors but has anybody seen this happen? Thanks, Dan.

hard to tell. i bought goldenish chalice around 1/2" size now it has grow to 1" and bring white speckel and greenish out.

I would think that the color would be built into it's DNA, don't quote me at all on this, as i have no degree's whatsoever. Just my two cents.

I was at a buddy's house and he asked me the same question because he got a chalice that has a lot of colors in a the mother colony but his frag didn't have all the colors. I am leaning toward it getting all the colors since that pattern should be in the dna.

I would agree w/ this as well, but sometimes I'm not as smart as I think I am.

I have heard that rainbows do not always redevelop a color if you cut it out. I was told this by someone who makes a living selling high end pcs.

He also selectively cut frags to grow pieces that had more of specific colors

I would say that it should, since the color development should be coded into the DNA

I hear it takes a really long time for the others to come in, if ever... I have a few buddies that say they've had a rainbow chalice fkr a couple years and he's still waiting for colors to come in... I have quite a few rainbow chalices but I always buy them with all the colors cuz I don't want to risk it not ever getting the colors... Plus I don't like to wait... Aha... =)

That's why I feel it's better to pay a little more for a frag with all the colors...
