I have a large colony of zoas that I want to eliminate off my rock work.. they are on a large piece of rock and they Do not extend far off rock and they have attached themselves to the rock...I would like to get All of them off the rock to use the space for other coral...how can I get them off?
I will post a pic if want I mean tomorrow

Thanks

I would just chip a small bit of rock with the zoas on it then glue to frag rock if you just peal them off and glue them they tend not to attach very well.

take your time and pick at them with a razer tip, and slowly peal them off.

or kalk them with the pumps off for 20min. in a ro,kalk paste.

I may try first one..I definitely don't want to nuke them, since I make some income off them..
Are zoas like xenia in the way that they can regenerate if they have their base left?

Beautiful zoas... I love it when colonies really drape over structure of the rocks.

A while back we converted our 180g to strickly sps and moved my zoas/palys to a 70g setup. We really worked to strip the rocks of any polyps. Fast forward about 6 months and we have zoas/palys growing where it appeared there was bare rock.

I have too many of the zoas I showed...those are the ones I want to eradicate off that rock...I want the space for acropora..

I would love to have some of them or all of them. If you can get them off of the rock alive please let me know. Thanks, Kim
