What is the process for fragging little rics from the main rock??

A friend has some and said I am welcome to have one if I know how to frag them from the main rock as he has no idea how to do it.

Are zoas easier to frag??

:)

use just about any flat and blunt (razor blade, screw driver)and simply pop them off with a little peice of rock they are stuck to so in the end you never touched the Ric but released it from the main colony with it's own peice of heaven still attached.

or take a razorblade, and slice a piece off. I like to use a mcguverish method to get them to stick to the rocks. It includes a piece of rock rubble, epoxy, and a toothpick.

That is another way ....but not as humane

Humane? After I frag my rics next time I will go hug the big oak tree in my yard for you

FUNNY!!!

Thanks, I am a a member of the CCA (seriously). I don't really consider the ricordea to be very high on the list of cognitive/emotionally sensitive of the species.

if your rics have attached to rock rubble you dont a tooth pick, just reefsafe superglue.. to the rock an your done.. i done it a ton..

never said they were full of emotions and feelings

As I cut my shrooms in half to force produceall the time but unless you know what your doing you'll likely kill it.

I have no trees so I hug a cactus everyday and it makes me feel great.

Another option if you got some time
...and you cannot detach a small piece of the rock with the ric on it (some rocks do not frag easily)
...and you do not want to cut the ric off with a razor and risk killing it

try and glue or epoxy a few small pieces of live rock rubble onto the colony in places where the rics look like they will grow (you don't need to glue them if you can get them to stay in place without it)
then just wait a few months for the growth and pop the live rock piece off the colony. easy and stress free for the ric
