Fragging the ric fl.

Yesterday I use a clipper to fragment my ric. I cut the mother a slice and the small piece that is about 5mm diameter has a piece of rock stick on it. And I use glue to stick the small piece on other bigger rock. The small piece does not have any mouth on it. I will keep an eye on it to see when it will grow a mouth. Here's the pictures.

It will develope a mouth.....Nice looking shroom.....Keep it out of high current for a few days....Super glue alone does not work the best on rics. They produce a slime which can cause it seperate from the rock and the superglue..Leaving you with a lost ric...I used to be a firm beleiver in that method...But after taking advice from people on this forum, I found a better method which ALWAYS works. I use fine mesh extra small media bags..Place the ric in the bag with a rock.(this keeps it from blowing away in the current)....tie closed bury the string and excess bag under sand....With in a day or two it foots to the rock/.

The ric already has a small rock on it. I use the glue on the rock not ric itself. And thanks for nice information how to stick ric on the rock by using a bag.

I've found that just chopping a small piece of the mother ric off like you just did, instead of cutting an entire ric off a rock by the foot, works well for me and I'm sure it will work well for you too. I usually use that method when I can't easily get under the ric with a razor.
