I wanted to reply to the randals goby thing but didn't wanna get yelled at. :)

paul...if you wanna see your shrimp, get some mysis or brine in the turkey baster and slowly squirt it at the end of the tunnel. its too funny, mine comes running for it and it looks like a baby sucking from a bottle. and give 'em some time...mine are nearly inseparable. the fish looks nervous if he has to leave the shrimps touch to eat.

more random. did my first acan fragging today. bought myself a dremel yesterday and have been dremeling the hell out of everything tonite. that sucker cuts through rock like butta. almost cut off a finger only once.

more random. i'm thinking about dremeling a big fat two headed brain. randy says if i do it will heal and grow...but how do it do it? just like an acan? its really meaty...i'm scared to cut it.

and, i've got more than i thought i would coming to the swap...is the only way to transport it in the plastic baggies? it would be nice to have it all open during the swap...if i disturb it with the baggie thing, how long will they take to open?

more random. have a great recipe for baked chimichangas and fish tacos if anybody's interested.

Mattfishman...haven't seen you around lately...how are the frags doing?

Eddie...are you ready to get your clam back saturday?

i would like the fish taco recipe.

I am seeing the shrimp a little more lately, and the goby is the watch fish outside the cave hole. That little guy can move some gravel. That picture I have of him is while he was doing some spring cleaning. I am liking that little guy alot- both of them.

I have a dremel, but am missing the bar to connect the cutting wheel. Either that, or I am an idiot who don't know how to attach the wheel. Anyone have an extra one of those little bars to attach the wheel???????? I bought the dremel and have never used it.

I would think that with good conditions, the frags will open right up once in a frag tank. It takes my acan frags a day to forgive me for cutting them, them they are opening and extending polyps like nothing is wrong. The baggy transport method is great because it prevents the frags from touching and stinging. You can ship them anyway you like as far as i know. I know of someone you just put all the frags in a bucket and took them to a local swap, without any ill effects. Acans are not as big of a deal as far as stinging one another such as SPS to my knowledge. Just be sure to put them in fresh water and not just the same water that they are transported in- that would be my guess.

I just used wire cutters to cut my acans once i realized that I didn't have the dremel piece.

don't be afraid-- cut the brain.

Yay, you got brave enough to frag the Acans!
I might want a frag or two of those, depending how they look.
I'm proud of you! :)
Did the link I sent you help?
What colors are they?

for the fish tacos you'll need:

mix 2 tbsp taco seasoning packet, 1/2 c sour cream (fat free works fine), 1/2 mayo (i use the light)/canola, fresh or dried cilantro (less if dried) for the topping.

in a skillet on medium highish, heat a little evoo, and throw in the rest of the taco seasoning, 1 lb of fish (i typically use tilapia), a big splash of lemon juice.

heat the shells in the oven until crisp, stuff with the fish mixture and top with the sour cream stuff.

it takes like 10 minutes and is great. DON'T USE CHEAPY STORE BRAND SHELLS/SEASONING. it really does make a difference.

on the dremel, i know walmart sells dremel kits, they may have that bar in there. mine didn't come with an extra. :(

i guess i'll do the baggy method, i want them to look good. i have a bunch of bambam frags, guess i can't put them all together, eh?

wire cutters? fix the dremel, power tools are awesome. :)

really, cut the brain? i'll try to get a pic, he's really meaty!

i did weetie! (mind if i call you that??) and yeah, the link was a big help!

there are a couple different ones...i don't have many that are ready. one is the orange and green one, one is red/greyish or green, and the other is my favorite its kind of red and white with green i think. ok, jeez, i'll see if i can take a pic. tho they're probably still pi$$ed about being chopped up.

Lol, everybody calls me Weetie, I even have a "real life" friend who calls me that half the time!
I think I'm most interested in the Orange and Green on the Acans.
You'll be surprised how quickly they get over being ****ed off from the fragging!

weetie is a good name!

i only have two of those, and i offered the prettiest to paul first, that leaves one left, but i can make another if you don't like it. i'm still waiting for the pics to upload to photobucket...should be done in a minute or two.

going to give this a shot. here's the new shallow end of the fuge. not everything is coming to the swap. but i do have more in the big tank that's coming.
i apologize for having the worst camera in the world. :)

Mmmm fish tacos. Remind me to make some ceviche if I host ever host a meeting. It's world* famous. (* where world means the people that have ever been to my ceviche-enriched parties).

Everyone calls her Weetie, but I call her Weetz for no apparent reason.

I'd love to borrow somebody's dremel for a few minutes. I've got a rock that the ol' hammer and chisel trick just isn't working on.

So that last one is not one you're getting rid of?
Cause if it is, I want it.
Also like "the neat one" frag.
Love that one that looks solid Orange and has what looks like 2 heads.
Would love to get any of those from you, they're exactly the kinda stuff I'm looking for.
Also drooling over the Favia/Platygyra type frags I see in that fuge full shot.

You just like to be different.

Did you get that one from cherrycorals? It is a nice one. Things look good to me. I think I will be brining a frag or two of my acans- maybe just a red and one of my good green ones.

No,No,No

My tank will not be ready for a clam. It is not stable enough. Maybe in a month of two. I need to get the corals from Randy first and then if all goes well the clams from you and Kim. Hopefully Kim will give them up. She has some corals too. She will have to remember which ones because I do not. There were two or three, or if she does not remember there were 8 or 10. (I get to pick which ones.):)
