Ok, I'm new to the whole clam thing, so I'm following the advice to start with a Flame Scallop.

Here's the question, can I treat him just like a frag and glue his but where I want him? I hope this isn't a silly question!

Just curious, where the advice came to start with a flame scallop?

Excelent question!

Flame Scalops are the hardest bivalves to keep. I'd give yours about one week; two if you attempt direct feedings.

Yeah...probably one of the first things I bought on the recommendation of a charming little salesperson. Dead within 24 hours. Would love to have another one now. They are fascinating when they light up. No way I'd kill another one though. Hope your experience is better!

I have two, one is two months old the other is a few days old, both are doing fine. Where does the myth of Flame scallops being so hard come from? I am not saying two months is "success", but they did not die right away and seem to be doing well. I do have nutrient rich water, as I feed DT's, Cyclopeze, and Golden Pearls in several sizes.

It's not a myth. You seem to be having better luck than most, but then there are some people who have bred Goniopora. I still would not recommend anyone keep that either.

I have seen posts from quite a few people that have kept flame scallops for 6+ months. Success? Not necceserily at 6 months, but much better than the "it will die in a day, in two weeks if you feed crapola!!!".

I'd recommend that you do some research before calling that crapola!
