Freeze Dried Mysis Vs Frozen Mysis Are they the Same?

Well my LFS closed when I wanted to get some frozen mysis to feed to my longnose hawk. I went to petsmart and they had these two.

Would these two work in replacement of frozen mysis? Or is frozen better?Thanks

As for which is better, not sure...but personally i wont use freeze dried over frozen if i've got the chance. It just seems like freeze dried is really light weight...like there's nothing in there, you know? Almost like if you were to order...say...a soda and they fill it to almost the top with just ice, leaving you very little soda... I know thats a horrible comparison, but you get what i mean? Like they're scamming you or something i guess :lol:

They'll work in a pinch if your fish will eat them.

I much prefer P.E. Mysis over any other frozen or freeze-dried variety.

High quality mysis. Frozen whole, including eyes. Fish love them. Also very dense packaging - not 75% water like some others.

PE is by far the best I have used. I ran out and settled for some San Francisco brand and there is no comparison.

Skip can get it at ATR. We used to do group buys but someone complained and Patsy quit selling to us direct, it wasn't ATR that complained by the way. Our last group buy was the SF brand and it really sucks. Even though PE was about twice as expensive I now see why and I will never buy another brand again.

To me price doesnt even matter for the food...i mean for me a sheet of cubes lasts close to a month anyways, so its not like paying twice what i pay for the SFB or Hikari brands is gonna hurt the pocket I'll have to go talk to skip now then lol. But he can just order it or do they actually carry it?

I much prefer frozen to freeze dried. Freeze dried tends to float which is really annoying. I use Hikari Mysis, no complaints, I have not used PE. I have heard PE is much larger than other mysis.

PE is larger since every shrimp is whole and fully developed. Hikari ends up with lots of water and a few mashed shrimp chunks. No complaints on smaller for fish who need it of course

So is the size of the PE mysis about the same size as the hikari plankton? I know thats a bit bigger than the hikari mysis, but its still got water in it...
