Fresh water fish to saltwater

Hypothetically how long do you think it would take to acclimate a fresh water fish to 1.024? Assuming it's possible. :jester:

It is possible for a few species . Mollies mostly, a few other types . These "freshwater" fish are not actually fresh water these fish are brackish water fish and sadly the pet stores lie and say they are fresh water . So to answer your question can a freshwater fish acclimate the short answer is No . But you can acclimate a brackish water fish to a full marine environment. Over a period of a few weeks . I have done this with a group of bumble bee gobys, It is very possible

I did FW tarpon juvis in a week. Which is no impressive feat, as they do it on their own in the wild. What are you trying to switch?

^ that in regards to fresh/brackish

also it depends on species, some species are use to rapid changes in their native environment for example pseudomugil cyanodorsalis...but even then slow acclimation is likely the better option.

The extra effor for some fresh water fish to swim in saltwater triggers a feeding response from saltwater predators.
