frilly mushrooms

hi there...does anyone have an idea ion how big a frilly mushroom gets ,and how offten they spit...i had one three weeks ago and now there's three.i'm not sure if that's good or not .thanks for your help people...

Depends on what kind... I think some of them get quite large, I have one that's about 2" across. It came with some live rock as a tiny little thing. I don't feed it, but sometimes it gets some leftover fish food if the shrimp doesn't steal it first.:lol:
I've had it for more than 8 months and it's never split. I think if I fed it it would have by now.

Depending on which species you have there, and how much you feed it they can grow quite large, ie I recieved on from a friend two-three months ago for my small tank, it was the size of a half dollar, and now its four times that size! I do feed mine though twice a week.

This might be stupid, but how do you feed a mushroom? Ive never fed mine other than phyto. I thought they were photosynthetic.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a couple and I have never fed them.....

Just turn off the filters, and drop some brine/mysis onto the mushroom. They will consume it. They will eat pretty much anything you place on them.

I have frozen fish food that has brine/mysis in it but, how do you keep the fish from eating it all up before the mushrooms get any?
Will this food be ok with them or do I need to buy something else?

I have mushrooms in my tank that are so annoyingly big! One is about 8-9" across, and the others around it are no smaller than 4" across. My clown fish has taken to hosting in them, and therefore I don't have to feed them, as the clown fish does this chore for me. It usually feeds the mushrooms mysis, but if I'm not feeding mysis at the time it will feed them whatever.
