Frogspawn coral :/

So everything has been fine for the 2 1/2 months about 2 weeks ago I noticed splitting and now it's Ina figure 8 type of formation however when I come home from school the tentacles aren't big and fluffy and looks "tired if that makes sense there's a vermited snail right below it that gets it's mucous on it which does make it close up but I don't know if that's the only thing making my guy sad
My specs
Phosphates are less then 1 nitrates r 0 salinity is a little high at 1.026-1.027( just added some distilled water to lower it) I jut did a water change on Sunday so my calcium and mag and all are probably all good(I have no tester but I have one coral so I'm not to worried) I have no other his or coral that can be puffin it however the dwarf ceriths do climb on its base(never tissue but pretty close ) please help
Ps plz don't say you need to check your calcium mag and alk as said above I have only one coral and I follow the reef crystals instructions to a T
Pps I know I have cyano :)

Anyone please help tips anything he looks bad one minute then the next he's fine is it because he's splitting?
 
Might be flow, especially if it's fine, then not fine. Did you change any flow, move anything, something like that?
 
I know you said about water changes etc. But you still need to check calcium and alk. Even coraline algae has calcium and alk uptake. Without those tests you can't rule out that problem.

Also... pc lights really aren't the greatest. They are only good for softies.
 
I would disagree he is splitting after 2 months which I'm told usually doesn't start for half a year after words also I did not change flow and if it's calcium he would be the same all the time right? After some research it look like the first time they split in your tank they look kinda bad is this true thx for the imput
 
So let me get this straight; you create a thread to identify your problem, and when someone comes on here to give you advise and try to lead you in the right direction you dismiss it.

If flow hasn't changed, and it's not a pest, it's either water quality or lights. Splitting isn't always a sign of good health. Many corals will split under stress as a natural form of survival.
 
Id get a new light source. I'm not familiar with the stock lights the BC comes with but they're probably not the best for stoney corals
 
To me if there is a water quality problem the coral wouldn't perk up and then go down and repeat this cycle the lights are better than what most people say at least for what I'm looking for in corals and I checked my calcium alk and mag all good sorry to offend you but what you are suggesting I tried and once again sorry I worry alot
 
you need to be careful when it comes to LPS very sensitive to alk. If you are going to keep them it should be part of your testing ritual. And PC lights arent great and the color sucks but they are enough for most LPS
 
After a week of this post he never did this again and I honestly love the color of the pcs very nice and rich colors if u ask me
 
I'm not sure who told you Frogspawn take a year and a half to split because this is not correct at all. I have had multiple frogspawn split within 3 to 4 months and continue splitting. Water quality is key to happy corals. :)
