frogspawn feeding

i feed my corals frozen food like brine shrimp and mitsy shrimp. they all really like it but my frogspawn doesn't seem to care. it's doing fine and looks great so i'm not really worried about it but i was just wondering what everyone else feeds their frogspawns. my others corals are growing so fast and i just want it to keep up.

I feed mine the same stuff that you do.

Sometimes it'll eat it, sometimes it'll just let it float away. If it's doing well without the food, then I wouldn't worry about it.

That's not to say you should give up completely on trying to feed it. Who knows? Maybe on day it'll decide to give it a try.

thanks. does it have feeder tentacles or not?

Yes but usually only at night and only it another coral is encroaching on it I do believe. I feed mine once a week and it never refuses to eat. It’s a pig lol.

i've heard about the sweepers but i'm wondering about feeder tentacles like those that come out for food not the deter the growth of encroaching corals.

I feed a little piece of silverside or mysis a couple times a week when i feed the anenome and the the elegance. What kind of growth rate do you guys see out of the frogspawn?

I've never been successful at feeding my frogspawn...or my hammer for that matter. It'll hold onto the mysis or silverside for a bit and it'll just float away. My torch, favia, and trumpet corals however, they will take anything I give them...

I also feed mine with mysis. Once in a while the cleaner shrimps will try to snatch it away but it's not really a problem.

Same thing used to happen to me, I would try to feed it mysis, then a little while later the mysis would just float out of the tentacles. Then one day I tried again, and my frog ate the mysis. If it floats out of the tentacles it just means it doesnt want to eat which isnt a problem.

Frogs close up at night so feed them during the day. Use a turkey baster and gently squirt some mysis on the the tenticles, somewhat close to the mouth, but not too hard or the frog will close up.

I had the same issue you had, but just give it time.

I try to get the food as close to the mouth as possible they seem to always eat it if it's right in their mouth not out on the tentacles. just my observation.

I may just be lucky but i have never attempted to feed my frogspawn and It is flurishing and growing a new head almost every 3 weeks or so.

LOL! My fire shrimp does the same thing. I'll have to sit there with a stick and shoo it away from my trumpet. He always seems to get a taste tho...sneaky bastard

Ok well at least i am not the only one with the shrimp trying to steel the food from everything. lol My skunk cleaner won't stay out of the frogspawn or elegance when i feed them i too stand there with the handle of the net poking at him. He won't even leave the BTA alone.
