frogspawn hammer

Clownemone

I just want to share my new addition. My LFS sold me this beauty and said it's a frogspawn hammer  It's supposedly a frag from someone's 20-yr old coral. I can't even imagine how large and beautiful the parent of this frag is! Anyone else has one and wants to share pics? We call ours "frammer" : )

This is my first foray into corals...tank is established a year today, so I picked this up yesterday...does it look right after a transfer and acclimate? lol...little iffy cause its my first one...def not as cool as his, im digging the colors, nice

Congrats on your 1st coral StevieD! Start target feeding it to make it fat & grow fast ;)

I'm relatively new to the hobby and recently found out that healthy Euphyllias will have the white tissue rim below the heads. I've attached a picture of the same coral I posted showing this. I just thought I'd share it with ya so you know what to look for among other things when picking a healthy specimen :)

Hmmm... Not sure why the pic is upside down. LOL.

I'm still experimenting with many different types of food. So far it seems like my frogspawn and my "frammer" like mysis shrimp the most. But they will really eat any frozen food that can fit in their mouth. I also soak the frozen food in Selcon at least once a week. Just be careful when target feeding that you don't blast them and cause them to retract.

Technically they don't need to be target-fed but it can make them grow faster and I love doing it.
