Frogspawn oops

I just picked up some frogspawn heads from another member. I picked them up and placed them in a cooler with bags full of warm water and separated them by a thick blanket to keep things insulated. Well, in our transit, the warm bags burst and soaked the blanket. The bag with the frogspawn got way too warm and when I opened the color the water had changed from clear to brownish color and the heads were pretty much bare. Is it too late to rescue or are they somewhat resilient. I am drip acclimating now and hoping for the best.

Ouch.... I consider frogspawn to be extremely forgiving as far as being a coral goes. I started with a single head that was receding pretty bad and he's about the size of a softball now with multiple heads. As long as there is color on him don't give up!

That being said... How long was he out of water...?

He actually was never out of the water thankfully. Cooler had 2 bags of hot water in the bottom, then layer or blankets to prevent frogspawn from getting too hot, then bag of frogspawn in water. The bag with the frogspawn was still intact, it's just that the other burst and cooked it a bit. There was still some color on it when I put it in the tank last night so we will have to see what happens. Thanks for the reply.

I would say give him a bit more flow than normal and give it time to bounce back. They are very hardy too IMO. The brown substance might be his own defense mechanism and hopefully will not hurt it. Good luck man!

@webmanny why more flow than usual? i thought that if a coral was in distress, low flow was usually better? just curious!
