frogspawn,torch and hammer question

I have never heard of that happening. If you want to move them just swish water directly at them with your hand. They should retract and let you get a hold of their base.

i have never had a problem with that with my two hammer corals, and i agree with drhank's method of swishing water, thats what i do whenever i have my hands in the tank for cleanings.

Yes it is true... they CAN sting. I've seen it happen a couple of times. Of corse the best way to ease the pain is urinating on the sting...

Although I have brushed up against my frogspawn many times without getting stung, they can sting you if they are stressed.

And I agree with both of ^Them^. The best way to reduce the chances are to swish some water around.

I have 17 different euphylia specimens. One, and only one of them will sting me every time i touch it. it leaves welts similar to that of a jellyfish sting. the other colonies do nothing to my skin. About swishing water around, and fleshy LPS should have water swished around to stimulate deflation beore handling, to assure no tissue damage.

I have never got stung by my Hammer nor frogspawns. I have been stung by a blue Haddoni though but thats a whole different moster.

I have never been stung by my frogspawn. Not saying they cant sting but hasnt happened to me.

I dont think you can go wrong with whichever one you choose they are all really cool corals.
