Frogspawn Trouble

Okay, here is the story. My Magnesium level had dropped considerably in my tank...it was at 900. I'm guessing this was something that happened a little each day over time but it was also causing me not to be able to keep up my calcium and alkalinity levels. Half of my corals retracted including my Frogspawn. Now that my water params are where they should be everything has opened back up...except the Frogspawn, that remains tightly retracted. What can I do? My LFS suggested to just give it time as it may take up to a week before it opens again after getting the water params stable. Has anyone had this trouble with their Frogspawn?

No a frogspawn is not more delicate. You might try helping it by direct feeding it some brine shrimp and some plankton.

Frogspawn are considered by some to be "sensitive indicators of water quality".

It seems natural to me that they would be the last to rebound.

Just keep improving your params, and they should recover.

Interesting. My GSP acts that way, i forget to top off for a day or two, it's the first thing to react, everything else will look fine but that thing will completely close up and not open til its back to good water parimeters. Like a guard dog!
