well my buddy called me and told me to come and get his coral out of his tank because its not doing to well because of the poor lighting he has. this is my first coral and the tank has only been running for two months. i told him i cant promise anything but ill give it a shot. well my question is that 25% of the frogspawn looks like its dead already but the rest of it is really good. will the dead part come back or is it gone for good? should i leave the dead part in the tank or can it be trimmed off. no please dont laugh because this is my first coral. thanks as always.

If the flesh is gone from the heads they won't be coming back. If they are long enough you can frag the dead heads away if you want, it isn't necessary tho.

you'll want to remove any tissue which you believe is dead--this will (a) start to smell really bad, and (b) is rather toxic to things in your tank. You probably took a big risk putting it in your tank to behonest with you.

well after 10 mins. in my tank i started open which i was very surprised and now its fully opened except for the 2 heads that are hard like a skelloten. seem to be doing really well. im not gunna be able to remove the dead part because of lack of the know how.
