Frozen Food Bulk Order

If you're like me, you go through a lot of frozen food for your critters. I'm currently using a mix of San Francisco Bay Emerald Entree and Marine Cuisine, though I occasionally use mysis shrimp too. Bio-Aquatics in Pasadena, CA is offering bulk ordering of frozen food at cut rate prices (nearly half of retail). They carry San Francisco Bay brand but also other brands: Hikari and Ocean Nutrition to name a couple more. The minimum order is 10 pounds, which we easily exceeded on our last bulk order. Last time we did this, we got the shipping costs per pack down to around 50 cents. So figure out how much you might use in 6 months or a year and pay a lot less! I have a storage freezer in which I will put the order upon arrival, and you can just come by for a pick up (I am located off I-40 exit 6 near the corner of Stage Road and Warford St.). I'll take orders (post a reply thread with your list) all this week and weekend, and place the order next week... you can pay me when you pick up your order, or shoot me a paypal when I calculate the total with shipping (no tax).

Great timing, I am just starting to pun out of stuff from the last order. Will get my list together this week.

Supply-Chain Question: (Just because I don't "know enough" to "know enough") ;)

In doing this, do we also give the LFS a shot at competing like we do the Salt Deals?

(I am ALL about getting the “right” deal (for everybody) which also includes judicious and (incrementally profitable) support of our LFS as warranted, because they also support WTMRAC.)

So I guess what I’m asking is: Like the Salt deal, can or should the LFS's participate in getting individual members a good deal? Or is this more along the lines of Buying-Direct? (Which I have no problem with, I’m just trying to understand what’s in our WTMRAC By-Laws as Club Members concerning leveraging our collective spend as a group.)

Thanks for doing this Jay!

If the LFS's give prices on this too, will we have to pay on one vist and pick up the next or can we do it all in one trip?

I checked with Richard... Memfish only carries with one of the 4 - 5 brands offered by Bio-Aquatics (San Francisco Bay)... several people from the last order had preferences for some of the other brands. Let me run this by Kermit's and get an answer.
