frustrating zoos, ideas?

im desperate and whining. here is the deal.. I have kedd redds, and tubs..i really think they are messing with me!! they close up wherever i put them for days..as soon as i move their plugs back down to the sand they all open beautifully within 20 minutes..what gives? i moved them up 3 inches today literally str8 up, same light etc?
anyone know what redds and blues like?

they seem to hate it on top shelf..I have hyper 50/50 light, actinic, then 10 k white..flow is not different in the areas i move them..also evryone else is thriving..the fact that they open on the floor trips me out!! and ideas what i should do? maybe i should leave them on the floor but waaa..????

I truly think you have already answered your own question. Maybe you should just leave them very low. With all the moving you are doing, you are only going to delay any growth you are hoping to achieve. What they are telling you, and this is a good thing my friend, is that they prefer to be low and not high in your tank. I would place them low and leave them as long as they are happy and it appears that they are.

i think your right, mmm how do i go about getting a cured rock for them down there.. the plugs are risky and get knocked over..I want to give them a stable home but all my rock is already put together..Is it possible to somehow get LR that is already cycled etc so not to re-cycle my tank? or is this an imposibility?
What are the dangers of taking out a peice of rock from my friends 60 gallon tank thats been running 1 year (but eew i think he has algae) mmm.. Should i buy a peice at the pet store, throw it in a rubbermaid in the dark with a power head for 3 weeks?
Am i over thinking this? I ust want them to thrive!!

Just use a piece of dead rock. Rinse it well and attach your zoos to it. It will become live rock soon enough!

Both are usually low light corals. I think you just changed your lights and that can play a huge role...

Leave them low and in a happy corner they will grow just fine if left undisturbed.

hehe thanks!! moved them down 1 inch.. they are now 2 inches off sand bed lmao they are opening..weirdooo's!!! thats where they are going to stay!!! thanks for all advice!!
