I am leaving the hobby and want to sell my setup. Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I will help move and you can use my truck, but you will need to supply manpower also. The setup includes:
225 gal frameless glass tank(84"L x 26"D x 24"T) w/ 2 corner overflows 1.5" drain and 4--3/4" retuns in back
72" Auqamedic Oceanlight 3x 250 HQI metal halides and 4x 39W T5 actinics
2 acrylic sumps/refugium, one is 18" x 23" x 16", the other is 36" x 23" 16"
Euroreef CS-8 protein skimmer
2 Iwaki MD30RXLT pumps and 2 Pan World 50PX-X pumps
24", 65W Corallife compact Flourescent light (over fuge)
Apx 300 lbs live rock
All Corals and Fish--inc sailfin tang, wantanabee angel, pair of true perc clowns, bicolor blenny, purple stipe pseudo, yellow tail damsel, long tenc aneomae, pink condy aneomae, 2 blue croacea clams (6"), elegance coral, green turbinara, lots of softies and more.
Asking $2500 OBO. Reply to message or e-mail me at rkottal01 at Yahoo.

Please take no offense but if it has been tried once it has been tried a 1000 times. Whole systems with this price tag do not sell.

Start selling the fish & coral, & then the equipment & it will sell, but not all at once.

Good luck

I have attached a composite picture of the tank, sorry I am not too good at Photoshop.

Obviously I forgot about my copper banded butterfly.

I have to agree. I can't imagine why someone who is not already in the hobby, and has $2500 to spare, would want to get in by buying someone else's complete system for that price tag.

:strooper:

Have to agree with xroads Even if you got the whole system most if not all the live stock would not make the transfer, unless you had a setup already going. This is a very nice system for someone wanting to upgrade and wanting a turnkey system!!
Good luck with the sale!!

i hate to be the mean one but the mods will pull this thread anyway as you don't have 50 posts which is the required number for selling anything on rc. If your interested in parting out I'd be interested in the copperband and a few other things.

Thanks everyone for your comments and interest. I understand completely about the advice to try to sell off the livestock, rock etc first and then the equipment, I just wanted to try to let it go in one step. It is hard enough to part with it as it is, to have to hang onto a dwindling system as parts are sold off might be more than I could bear. I read the rules about 50 posts after I submitted the thread (of course read the rules afterward real smart!), so I appologize for breaking the rule. I will keep those of you who have expressed interest in pieces in mind if I end up having to sell things off a little at a time.

Atticus--No there is not a stand or canopy. The tank is currently housed in a built in wall shelving unit. The lights are suspended over the tank from the bottom of the cabinets over the tank.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and interest. I have PMed all those who contacted my back via PM, but also wanted to let the rest of you who might be interested know what happened. The tank had a problem and I ended up loosing almost all the fish, one of the perc clowns, the yellow tail damsel and the copper banded butterfly survived. The corals and aneomaes also survived. Needless to say, I needed to do something fast, and Gary at Bo Bo's Fish in Cedar Rapids was kind enough to come get everything out of the tank and take it all. He has sold the tank. He has the rest of the equipment, live rock, live sand, corals as well as the surviving fish for sale at his store. If you are interested, please contact him. I am not sure what the rules on the forum are for posting addresses and phone #s, so if you want them PM me, or he is listed in the pet store directory on the GIRS site.
Thanks again to all who gave me advice or expressed an interest in my tank. I will miss the hobby terribly, but it is time to move on.
