i cant find what this does online... can you fill me in, does it chill the water as well as warm it? and what is the size applacation? like what tank is it ment for?

it neither chills nor warms the water. but you can put a chille ror heater on it. Its kinda a safty piece.

I have my chiller hooked up to this exact model. I ahve it set a 81 degrees and when my controller reads 82 it will kick on my chiller and this goes the same for a heater. Hooking a heater to a controller is a very good idea as they have been known o get stuck and toast your tank. A controller like this will prevent that

Yeah, what Davey said. Heaters are notorious for malfunctioning, and I would not trust one without a controller. I set the heater a degree or two above the temp set on the controller, so even if the controller managed to get stuck on, the heater would still shut off. And, if the heater itself got stuck on(been known to happen), then the controller would shut it off.
This can also be used for a chiller. This model is a single stage controller, so it can control either a heater or a chiller, but not both. I bought a dual stage as my system is now in the garage, and needs the heater at night and the chiller during the day, and I prefer to have a single controller, as opposed to one for each unit.

If you look at the pic, the bottom cable is the power cable. The right is where you plug either a heater or a chiller power cable in, and the top grey line is the temp probe.
