hey there,
Have over 50lbs of dry rock for sale for $50. Broke down a tank and was going to toss the rock. It is good quality porous rock so instead of tossing it I gave it a good cleaning. There's a few pieces of Hatain and branch rock in the mix.
Soaked rock in bleach, gave it an acid bath, then bleached it again. At the moment rock is still wet and has chlorine odor which will dissipate when rock dries out.
I have done this with rock numerous times and have had no issues using it. Perfect for starting off a tank without adding potential pests from the tank from live rock. Seed it with a clean bacteria source, ie. a piece of clean live rock, filter sponge or live sand. Then add some Coralline algae scrapings before or after cycle and you will be good to go.
Pick up in Delray Beach. call or txt 561-306-2424 if interested or any questions
thanks
Peter
