Does anyone know what a fair price for this would be? I have no idea since it was given to and I never used it. I have no use for it anymore so I would like to sell it. I am also willing to ship.

u sure that's an eheim cal reactor? i know the pump is but the reactor itself seems a diy.

Yep, u can tell its DIY, from the purple primer coming out from the pvc joints.

Guys If I get this, will I need a Co2 tank and all that knick knack patty wack?!

Or can I just fill it in with media? How the hell do these things work!

Without CO2 it will be nothing more than a sand reactor with only biological processes taking place in it.

5 lb should be enough... people say their 5 lb usually lasts about 6-7 months. but it ranges. I'm going with a 10 lb.

well co2 tank is rarely blow up, BUT, if the person fill the co2 bottle mess up, it could be a PROBLEM.

I brough my co2 in for refill, a NEW guy took my bottle and filled it up. He looked lost and confused and another OLD guy had to help him filled it up.

The co2 was colder than before.....I took it home, put it down on the floor and walk away....2 minutes later I hear a sound like air coming out of a tire, however 100 time louder.

I ran to the direction of the sound...and I saw air shooting out of the bottle and the force made it look like a rocket. Big hole in my wall, 3 picture fames broken and everything 2-4 feet from the bottle is like ICE COLD.

It turned out that the guy put too much air into the bottle and the emergency air valve can't take it. The valve had to relieved the air so the bottle wouldn't blow up.

....anyways, I do have a co2 bottle plus co2 regulator for sale, if you interest let me know.

The 20oz scare the crap out of you though.

5 bls bottle is a good size, 10lbs is a little big and tall. 5lbs should last you 3-6 months.
