Hahaa..this is for my Nano Brnadon. JBJ has the dummes Power supplu in the world. The built in moonlights (2 low power) are on the same power connection as the PC's, so in using a time I get no moonlight when the time shut's off the PC's.

So I am going to retro it into my JBJ hood and add this to give me moonlight control. :-)

I am still decidng on the MLC and want to see the cords before I buy. The DA moon pods have their chord designed perpendicular to the length of the pod, and I need to run the wires 90 parallel which menas folding it over itself. If the chord is pliable enough then fine, but I want to se one before I buy the setup.

looked at the icecap one....good pickup for a nano andy. its a blue 1watt & i have (5) 1watt blues in my DIY moonlight bar & they are like WOAH bright :eek1:

just to give ya an idea of how bright those lil LEDs are, here is a short vid of both the (5) 1watt blues & (5) 3watt whites i did for shimmer. the blues are also on a dimmable controller so i can throttle them down

Thanks James!!! Cool stuff! That one light will be grate for our nano here!

Andy, I use one of the icecap moons in my jbj nano and it lights it up real good, very pretty at night, you can see everything in the tank and no external light needed to view your critters after dark :) excellent choice.

Well, I think it is the right choice too :-) I am also looking for a nice warm ride up to Ashland city on the Harley today too!!

Thanks Chris for a great buy!!! I installed it into my Nano hood and man, that light really puts out the power!! My wife is tickled pink! The tank really is a deep blue compared to my Current moonlights.

James, lets talk about a light bar with these. I have an idea for one and want to pick your brain about how your controlling it. I do not want to have to plug in an adapter for every pod. Plus, I want to heck and see how these Icecaps compare with the DA ones that operate with the MLC on my ReefKeeper Elite (RKE..just too many damn acronyms in 1 sentence).

mine is designed on the thread of the month (DIY LEds thread in the diy forum). all it is is (5) 1watt blue LEDs i got off ebay (not concerned w/ whether the cheapos do proper wavelength since they are just moonlights & not for coral support). they are wired back to a buckpuck (the LED driver). the buckpuck i have put in a project box from radio shack. it also has a female 2.5mm plug. the wall wart plugs into that. one buckpuck can run about 7-8 LEDS....provided you have a wall wart or power supply that will supply enough juice

mine, the buckpuck is a dimable version, so it as a pot to adjust the current to dim them. that is the only "control" there is & it's manual. i'm sure there is a way to do it electronically, but its a tad outta my current skillset LOL & not something i was interested in any way. once i get the pot set to the brightness i want them, my plan is to plug them into a seperate wall timer for their own time cycle & that's about it.

if ya want help getting supplies & putting one together, let me know :)
