Hello everyone out there!

The time has come to separate my giant lionfishes, they are just too much for one aquarium's bio-load. I thought I would put up this post here first, to give the local hobbyists a chance, then move on to other forums. I would rather not ship him though, so if you have interest, please send me a PM.

Here's a picture of the fish:

His name is Tiger and I've had him for going on 2 years now. I looking mainly for him to find a good home, where he has plenty of room to stretch out his spines. From nose to the tip of his tail, he measures roughly 13" and he has a healthy appetite. I want to get at least $250 out of him. He would make an awesome center piece for any large saltwater setup.

I also have one other thing for sale, not fish related. Read on:

100 Gallon old school aquarium : $150
-Tempered glass, no partition in the top, shorter & squattier than a traditional 125g, perfect for a reef because of all of the extra surface area. This is just the aquarium--no lid, stand or anything with it. First come first serve.

If pictures are desired of the aquarium, PM me and I will post them. There are no major scratches in the glass however, and it's just what you would think it looks like.

If you have interest in Tiger, or the aquarium shoot me a PM !

I didn't mention before, Tiger is tweezer trained and eats only frozen seafood. Shell-on Shrimp, Oysters, Squid, etc. The majority of Lionfishes only eat live food, which severely limits their ability to survive past their juvenile stage. I have spent more time than I will devulge 'training' him to eat basically from my hand.

Most people feed live goldfish or something else that is equally cheap and easy--these fish are not intended to prey on freshwater animals. Their digestion is designed to break down saltwater prey. Comet Goldfish are the worst because they have trace elements of mercury in their blood, and it shortens the lion's lifespan dramatically.

Not to mention it's an awesome party trick to feed the lion and watch him perform like a trained pachyderm!

Here's another picture of Tiger, a little farther back this time so that you can see how his size compares to the aquarium - it's a 125.

This was a lucky shot, a little refracted because of the angle but it's pretty sweet anyways.

vvolfe1 :

The approximate dimensions of the aquarium are as follows:

Length : 6 ft. 3 in.
Width : 1 ft. 7in.
Depth : 1 ft. 8 in.

I'm going to put Tiger up on some other forums if no one shows interest by Monday. I will post the links to the other forums on this one so locals can still purchase him if they'd like.

I'm going to drop the price on him to $200 and the 100 gallon aquarium's sale is pending at this point. I will post whether it's sold or not in a couple of days.
