FS: Live rock

The majority of this has been in my systems for between 2 and 6 years depending on the piece. Some of it is original live rock that went into my 58 a long time ago. This is excess from breaking down the 58/200 I won't need for the new system.

It's all been cooking without direct light for over two months (broke them down Decemberish). I nuked it also with extreme doses of algaefix. There was some bubble algae, a handful of aptasia, etc. No signs of any algae types, but I see a couple aptasia which would be easily nuked since your transporting the rock anyway. I see pods scattering, rock had a lot of sponges and peanut worms, etc. There may some remaining GSP or purple mushrooms, but I doubt they've fared very well with no light this long.

"Premium" pieces with a lot of coralline or very cool shapes are $4.25. "Normal" pieces (and there are no dry land boulders in here believe me) are $3.25.

Hi Eric,

I'm looking for some good coralline encrusted live rock to kick start my other rocks. I really like the first 3 pics where you are showing them here. Do you still have them or some others? Let's say you still had the first 3, about how much do you thing that would run me?

Thanks...Rick

Rick, I'm actually just about out. I have the large flat piece in the upper middle (probably 1" thick, 12x12"), one smaller flat piece, and a large thick piece about 12x12x5". None of them have a ton of coralline, but would be interesting pieces for in the tank.

Ok, here's what's left:

Cool piece, about 14x12x1" roughly based on a quick glance. ~7lbs, $20

This would be perfect for an acan ledge. I'd keep it but I have a few already ;) about 12x12 with 1 to 4" thick (tapers off) ~15lbs, $30

Dry rock at $2.25/lbs. Probably 50lbs or so. Was all live at one point, and bleached/acid dipped.
