FS or FT: Tunze Wave Box

I am looking to sell or trade my Tunze Wave Box 6212. I bought it less than a year ago and was not aware that it will not work in a tank unless it has at least 4ft of open water to start the wave motion.

I have not used it since. I tried to use it the other day, to see if it works and it comes on but I get the solid beeping noise that is common with the Tunzes boxes (do a search on RC to find out more). Essentially, the posts all say that it needs to be cleaned. I am no expert and since I am not going to use it, I do not want to waste the time trying to figure this out.

So, do not worry. If you can not get it to work, I will refund your money (just send it back to me in the same condition--I dont want a million pieces!!!JK)

I am looking to sell but would prefer to trade for livestock. It costs about $570 new, so would look at trading around $300. I keep sps, so would like to trade for those.

Let me know. Also, just to hoard off the emails or pm's that may follow this post. This is not a garage sale. I feel the price is very fair (providing it works), especially to trade frags.

Again, if you can not get it to work, I will take it back no worries, but if you are savvy with the Tunzes, it should be easy to fix as listed in the other posts, and a great bargain since it was used for about 2 weeks.

I believe so. If you put it on one side of the tank and aim it across from the left to the right, it will work. Just make sure from where the water exits, it has at least 4ft of "open water" or the wave system will not work. I had mine in 32" and it did not work.

gotcha.

I have a 125 gal (6ft), with corner overflows.

How much "freeboard" does it need?
What I am trying to figure out is if I am going to have the overflows alternating being empty.

Imagine a mark on the glas of the tank at where the max height of the wave reaches, and then another one at the minimum height.

The space between the two marks would be the "freeboard".

Ok. You can set the wave box to make any amount, so the freeboard can be variable. I've seen it up to 3"

That is a great deal and I almost want to get it, but I can't right now. I don't have enough SPS and I don't have enough $$.

I've seen these in action...They are super powerful and quiet. That price is amazing, provided it works...

pm returned Lutefisk.

cschweitzer...its a good price if someone knows how to work these things. And if they cant fix it, then it will cost them nothing.
