FS: Shattered Red Sea Reefer 250

You don't need to reject delivery to get a refund on a compromised tank. Often there will be styrofoam spacers anyways. I mean I understand not wanting to deal with the possibility that something is damaged and you don't notice it, but Red Sea is usually really good with replacing.

Just rejected my delivery. Had holes in the box the tank was in. Something must have hit it hard in order to make that hole. Did not want to take a chance with a compromised tank. The stand box was also ripped. How is the freight company so careless?

Now I'm set back another 2 weeks. May have to go in a different direction.

Sorry to hear. I've heard of way too many incidents of Red Sea tanks arriving damaged. It's unfortunate for Red Sea since they are probably paying for the freight carriers careless handling. What's worst is the poor experience caused for us reefers that wait eagerly for deliver day and have to open a box with damaged goods.

I agree, Red Sea and BRS was very good with giving me a refund. But it took a couple weeks and within those weeks my temporary holding tank crashed and I lost most of my corals and fish. Lesson learned, Next time around I'll be buying from a LFS that already has the tank in stock.

Don't change direction though, Red Sea makes excellent tanks and quality is excellent. Good luck with getting a replacement.
