I was wondering if there are places for good snorkel (any reef) around this area. I've never snorkel before and alot of people say it's fun. I would like to see for myself....and the reef too. :)

Thanks!

Gary, start by checking out the beaches close to the Haulover cut rock wall, the south inner part of the cut (Bal Harbour side) has a nice beach area surrended by rocks and the waters are calm, stay away from the inner side of the canal as there are lots of powerboats coming in and out.
Another good place to go snorkeling is Red reef, this is north of fort lauderdale in the area of Boca Raton.
The ultimate ofcourse is to go on a snorkeling tour of penne camp in Key Largo, they provide the equipment you just pay like $40 for everything.

you can also go along with any a scuba tour boat that does shallow dives . I def second for penne camp in Key Largo

Coo! That's not too bad. How many people can fit in a boat?
What's the time limit?

Is there a web site about it...so I don't have to bother your guys...:)

Thanks again!

Brian, the brands and price range for decent equipment are almost infinite, most dive shops carry both ends of the spectrum when it comes to price, I would rent the ones offer by the tours at first and then if you decided that you would enjoy to continue snorkeling then buy your self a good set of fins, booties, mask and snorkle, the reason why I say a good set is because this is the kind of hobby that usually progresses into diving, you could save some money if you buy equipment that you can use for diving as well, if later decide to do it.
