I just got a new light for my fuge I wanted to know if its ok to leave your refugium lights on 24/7 so i can grow my macro algae faster?

I prefer to run my fuge light reverse of dt lighting running 24/7 my cause over growth

I guess is all right if you don't paid electric! But, now that the summer is coming, you are looking at more heat to your setup. I have my refugium light on a timer. When my MH go off at Midnight, my refugium light goes on all night until 7AM. Nights are typically cooler. That should be enough lighting for your Macro algae.

Personally I think that for the algae living in there 24/7 is best. But it is obviously not natural, so I would only recommend running it for a shorter time. But then again I know of a lot of people that do run 24/7 and have no ill effects, I think is it kind of up to you.

i run my fuge light opposite of my display's lights, however if you have caulerpa and you run your light 24/7 there is a much lower chance of your caulerpa going sexual on you ( releasing all the nutrients it has removed, a way to naturaly thin itself) but if you have cheatomorphia you dont have to worry about it going sexual.
