same here on the florescent cheap bulbs and clip on reflector . ther are howerever better options such as a t5 set up for that size tank and a two bulb unit will work just fine . mangroves grow so slowly that they really don't do much in exporting nutrient so you should find some cheato or bubble algae so you can grow it and remove a portion every month or so and then what ever nutrient that has been used for its growth and is in it will be removed .
a actor GFO reis also a very good device to remove po4 ,just start out slow with it if you choose to use it .
Once my cycle on my 180g is complete, I'm going with a JBJ Nano-Glow LED refugium light. It's a 6500K spectrum LED light and should provide good macroalgae growth.
