A new addition to the sump

my question is should I leave the lights on 24/7 and it's only been up 2 weeks and I see brown hair algae on the callipper! crap spelling!do I rinse off and replace or wait for it to grow then trim it back? Also is an air stone good idea? Thanks .

A red grow light will work better. Also if you can get your macroalgae to tumble it will grow better
