Fuji Finepix s5000 help please

Can someone help me figure out how to take good closeup shots with this camera? Or do I need to talk my wife in to allowing me to upgrade? Is it hopeless with this camera?

I have a s5200 which I think would be very similar to the s5000. If you put the camera on a tripod and get close to the tank you can get some good shots. When you are close to the tank you cant zoom in though or the pic will be out of focus. You can zoom in but will then have to back up a couple feet.

i owned a finepix but replaced it with a minolta z camera. works much better. what ever you get make sure it has a glass lense(most important thing)

i use a fuji finepix e550.. some pretty decent pics for a small type camera.. not sure how different they are, but mine has macro settings that help quite a bit.. the color isnt that great for tank light but overall decent

The S5000 is a pretty good Camera. I had an S7000 before I got my Rebel and its able to take pretty good pics. Put it into macro mode, adjust the white balance, and use a tripod.
