fumanchu lionfish

right on....good reading and a great starter article. Also consider Scott michaels book reef fish vol1

Thank you for the info. do you have any exper. in keeping one. I'd like to hear about any trouble you've had. I can raise the large volitains but have trouble with the smaller dwarfs.

yes I've had Fu's for quite a while. I outlined the problem w/ these fish in the article. I've keep 2 for almost 4 yrs.
They are poor shippers, they tend to hide alot and they are one of the more troubling lions to wean over. So you have to make sure their eating well and happy. Both are difficult, but if you do get a healthy one and it does appear interested in food- you've got a good start.
Large bodied lions are easy- they wean over easy and they adapt easy, the smaller species are usually more difficult

i have had no problem weaning fu's, its just finding one that ships well.
twice i got a lfs to get them in and they did fine in their tanks and then when i shipped them to mine after a week they died.

i would recommend getting a lfs to ship one in for you and you pick it up before they put it in their tank it worked for us

Thanks for all of your input. Mabe I will be able to raise one. I still need to do some more reading.
