G3 mod question

Has anyone just put a T and a 90 elbo with a piece of pvc pipe going into your sump to quiet down the water splash on the riser. leaving out the gate valve.

I have, although I left in the riser tube so the water level in the skimmer could be adjusted. I've had it running for about a year withouth any issues.

I'm pretty sure thats what everyone does. You want gate valve, to the tee, off the side of the tee you want a 90º, and then a piece of pipe that goes below the water surface.

I didn't like the whole gate valve mode. I found it easier for me to simply leave the riser tube in place and forgo the gate valve.

thanks everyone for your input! yes what i want to do is come off the riser with a T then into a 90 with a tube going into the sump. that should quiet down the waterfall
