galaxea needs to be moved buts grown on 3 pieces of LR

i want to move this guy, his tentacles are stinging everything withing 10 inches. i tried to just lift him and this guys has grown a few inches out to 3 pieces of live rock.

can i just get some chisel and hack away break hi off the lr and keep it on its own live rock. i want to move the main piece of live rock with the galaxea over far away from the other corals.

You can chip under it or break it into 3 pieces . I had one about the same size that I broke into 3 or 4 pieces similar to what you have. All the pieces are doing fine. If you dont want 3 pieces when you are done trade em'. Galaxea seems to be a hardier coral IMO.
