Galaxia Frag Help

I was recently given a Galaxia frag for my Biocube14. I have never had a frag that came with such a big base and i am wondering what the best way to position this in the tank is. It looks like the base is a white skeleton of some kind and i'm not sure if this will eventually cover up or will always stick out like it does now. Any suggestions on how it should be placed in the tank? Thanks.

The way you have it will work. I'm not to familiar with galaxy growth patterns but I'm pretty sure it should grow over that white skeleton. If you can, try to use some epoxy to keep it in place. You want the majority, if not all of that tissue to be facing up towards the lights. Another option would be to get a saw and cut down that skeleton. This would make it alot easier to mount. Thank you for the response. So if i epoxy it to the rock so it is facing straight up then it will eventually cover the sides of the skeleton? I'm not to keen on trying to cut the skeleton, though i will if i have too.

You don't want to stand it straight up. The lighting might not be enough for it to grow down the sides. You want to epoxy it at kind of a 45 degree angle. (kind of like it is now) You want as much of that tissue facing upright as you can while taking advantage of all the light the bare skeleton will get. Eventually it should grow right down the skeleton to the rock itself.
