Galaxy Coral

A head broke off the main piece. I superglued it to a plug and am hoping it will grow. Will this work? I moved it to my 12 gal biocube for frags. Should I keep it in the main tank or leave it?

It should work if the frag is healthy and has enough tissue on it. I would leave it near the mother colony until it show signs of recovery, then move it to the frag tank. Worked for me. Good luck!

It should do fine. My galaxea actually left a "baby" when I moved it. Now the baby is half the size of the mother colony:D

i had one that was huge, and needed the space, so i threw it in the sump. ( i know thats a bad thing) I had plans to take it out in a day or two and trade it or something. Well long story short six months go by when i finally get around to pulling it out. It only had a few signs of life on it, and within two months of being back in my tank it is growing bigger than it was before. Don't worry about hurting galaxies. they are virtually indestructible.

Have you guys had better luck with them growing back over broken sections or sections where "stems" have died? I have a section that died off when I moved the light and didn't realize it was in shade and have been wondering if I should snip the dead stems off. Hope this isn't considered a hijack.

Frag is well and on the HOB frag rack. Hopefully it will grow to the full glory of it mother. How long does it take on average. I know that conditions matter.
