Game Over for me. Ich

well just got a mimic that clearly has ich now. didn't qt because he was in a display at an lfs for years. I don't have a tank to qt these fish in besides a 100g that is a pos. Don't know what to do, im gonna have to tear this tank apart to catch the fish. The fish are too big for a small qt tank.

I am guessing you have read the treatment options. If none of those are possible for you then it looks like you need to try and manage the ich and hope for the best.

If it's a "game over" situation, why don't you just feed some Metro and focus and see if everybody's fine?
I definitely have ich in one of my systems at home, but healthy fish build up an immune system.

It would be a PITA but a few 40 breeders could probably take care of the fishes. Depending on the choice of treatment it would definitely pay to have a well though tout plan.

If you go TTM you could do the TT in rounds and placing those fish in a 40 then repeat the process with the next batch into another 40. I think I would go for 3- 40's the wrasse and the rabbit, swallowtail bengai and the gramma and in the third the clowns and mimic. I would probably start with the fish group showing the ich the worst.

I have not had to treat that many fish at once before. So I was just kind of thinking out loud.

I'll second that. I'm sure there is ich in my system, but I haven't seen a single spot in about a year and a half. I even have a powder blue tang in my system.

Theres inch in almost every system. I am gonna let it be most likely they fish are all healthy. I think he was stressed from moving but he seems like he's finally settling in minus the ich. Finally started to pick algae and mingle with the others.

I've read several seemingly credible statements that maintain marine ich will disappear in an aquarium after about 12 generations, if no new organisms are introduced during that time.

I have a purple tang that has ick 2-3 times. As long as he eats he will be fine. Over feed him.

I feel like a moron but this may have been extremely small micro bubbles. I am not sure but I'll have to monitor. for some reason my return was dumping in micro bubbles and I have no idea why.

Well this thread has been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. We've gone from "oh no, the sky is falling" to "well this probably isn't any big deal" to "there was never a problem in the first place." Haha

What's your invert situation look like? Could you pull out any shrimp or crabs (easier than catching fish sometimes) and drive the tank into hypo salinity?

Whatever else you wind up doing, now would be a good time to spoil everyone with some good food. Stuff like live worms, fresh clams that you freeze and shave into the tank, some fancy stuff from the lfs, etc.

Hard to quantify, but I would say most at least is a fair statement. I would say more people don't do a full-blown strict QT procedure than those that do.

I know quite a few people with ich in their systems. I cant do anything in tank because its an sps tank. I'm gonna see ow it goes.

Feed your fish well. Keep them fat a healthy fish can fight off almost any parasitic infestation. Believe me I know all of the studies about increasing populations of ich, my tank has had ich from the start. Going three years now and not a single loss. The one fish that has shown repeated outbreaks is my blue tang but its only been a handful in that three year period. Hes fat happy and healthy he never shows spots when hes had an outbreak only scratching which leads me to believe he's fighting them off.
