I was wondering who is comming and what you are bringing.

I am bringing a Gen X PCX 40 ($60), a tunze Nano Reefpack ($125), a 175W metal halide electronic balast with mogul socket and 10k XM bulb ($50).

Looking for a good used 14-15k 175w metal halide bulb to try (any age). The 10k on my tank is causing a LOT of algae growth and just want to see if 14k would look good and not cause as much algae.

Hey,

I hope you and your family had a good Thanksgiving. Prayers are with ya'll. My mother-in-law had breast cancer and beat it; it was worse than what your wife's sounds like.

The pump is about 2.5-3 years old. Bought it from Kermit's. It was last used in September right before moving my tank and downsizing. When I was able to set up my bigger tank as well, I decided to go with a little less flow as it will be a FOWLR and bought a Mag 9.5 for that.

It is in great condition and have never had any problems. Impeller cleaned in vinigar and ready to go. I also put a on/off swich on it and have a 1" check valve that can go with it as well.

I've wanted to upgrade my PCX-30 for more flow. Bring it by when you see the tank and I'll take a look at it.

I checked my PM and saw that friedrice had asked about working a trade for a MH 20k or 14 k bulb. They asked at 4:17 with a phone number. Maybe we can all work out something that works for all. You need a 40, he maybe could use a 30 and I could use come cash and a 14 k metal halide. Would that work for you? Maybe it could be a win/win/win situation.
 
No worries Austin. I have a PCX-30, that needs more flow and I'd like to swap it out for the larger unit, but last night, one of our Hot Water heaters blew Up. SO today, I have to replace it. (Read: $500.+)

If Tim can use a PCX-30 and doesn't need the 1190 GPH flow, then we might work out a swap. Otherwise, no big deal.
 
I, for one, was glad I went. I got to meet a couple of guys that were interested in the club and the hobby that only knew about the sale from craigslist. They now know about RC and the club. Here's to bringing a couple more into the fold!

Glad you're here! Reefing is a terrific passion.

I just sold my son's ten-gallon (FW) set-up, which was built in 1993. We gave it to him, becuase he had received several "Free" goldfish as a give-away Birthday party favor.
