Hello all,
A few months back my other half and I went to our local pet store, saw a small tank and decided to get back into marines. After a few weeks of getting the first tank I was offered another tank and some equipment and bought that as well.
The two are plumbed together and are running well but I don't just want another tank I NEED another tank.
So I have ordered a 180cm x 70cm x 70cm (not sure of the conversions from cm to inches/feet) which will sit on a 100cm high stand. I wanted something I could stand and look into instead of crouching down.
The equipment list is as follows
3 Ecotech Radion
2 MP40
2 Tunze 6095 + 7096 Controller
Waveline DC 5000 Return
Reef Octopus Diablo DCS200 Skimmer
Aquamedic Kalk Stirrer
I want to get as many local fish from the Durban area as possible. We have a good variety available to us locally. Currently I have
Lyretail Anthias,
Carberryi anthias,
Coopers Anthias
Cleaner Wrasse,
Iridis Wrasse,
Cosmetus Wrasse,
Splendid Leopard Wrasse
Convict Surgeon (These you can find in every rock pool up the coast)
Striped Bristletooth.
I also have a few other fish you cannot get locally.
Yellow Tang,
Desjardini Tang,
Black Percula Clowns,
Fire Goby,
Chromis
I am going to do a mixture of soft corals and LPS, I love the movement of them. I know this will change in time but I would rather become more confident before keeping SPS.
Here are a few picture of my current set up and fish.
This is the striped bristletooth, this was taken a few weeks ago just after I caught him. The stripes are not as pronounced and he has gone a gorgeous dark chocolate brown.

Splendid Leopard wrasse.
