GBTA & cleaner shrimp

Startled

Will a BTA prey on cleaner shrimp? I recently found half of a largish cleaner shrimp next to the BTA. Two days later, the BTA split. Coincidence, or an energy-grab for the metabolically-expensive splitting process? A bad trade, if so, for I like the shrimp, and it is worth about as much as a BTA clone, which I didn't need.

probably lucky that the GBTA got the shrimp. More commonly the cleaners will steal food from anemones and have been known to damage their mouths ending up in the anemone dying.

Yeah, that shrimp probably just got what he deserved (sorry, my own cleaner has been ****ing me off with his food stealing). Seriously, though, I'm not sure I'd pronounce the BTA as guilty quite yet, though. Cleaners seem to be pretty resistant to stings from anemones or anything else. I had one of my skunk cleaners die about a month ago. I have reason to believe it may have been my very innocent looking 6-line wrasse, but it may have just been natural causes.
