Chad, thanks for the info. I think you guys are probably right about the pump. My original thought was that since it was only on a 20G, that I could go with a little bit lesser pump. I may take you up on checking out your skimmer Chad, it might help me out a little in planning. I'll have to play around a little and see if my plan is even feasible. I messed with the pump a little tonight, and I found that the cap on the impeller shaft had slid off and was stuck in the impeller cover. I pulled it out and put it back on, and it quieted down a little, but still hummed pretty loudly--but not nearly as loudly as it was last night. Anyway, if you guys have any other thoughts on how to quiet it down, or thoughts about the skimmer design, let me know.
